The drama didn't have much favorable comments the last time I reported on it (click the tag above to see), but it seems it's made a turnaround.
I'm sure most of you know what 'ogeul' is but since it's brought up a lot in the comments, I'll explain it just in case. 'Ogeul ogeul' is basically what Koreans say to express an embarrassing act or cheesy situation, where your hands and toes curl with second hand embarrassment. It's not necessarily bad.

This drama is just cute and fun that's why I like it and don't expect anything too serious. Sulli is the cutest! I'm glad some people are giving it a chance.

wished sm (or the drama industry entirely) realized that it's not just the idols that make the ratings go up. sure, it might help some. but what makes or breaks a drama is the writing. dream high 1 wasn't successful because of the idol actors, but because people bought into the story of underdogs and misfits.

ReplyDeletei'm not sure if you all know sm never care about rating. this drama will certainly be exported to various countries overseas. plus, they can release dvd, director's cut, etcetc and their loyal overseas fans will buy it. not a fan of sm or idols in drama in general, but sm dramas aren't "sucks" either in terms of sales. quality wise, heck yeah, it sucks.

ReplyDeleteThey made this drama for dvd/blueray releases, licenses for other countries purpouses and THEN it will be a hit. They should have released it directly to dvd/blueray tho
However, their acting is not THAT bad (sans minho, allthough he improved 2% since salamander guru) and it's a bit fun to watch XD... although you get the feeling the drama is not going ANYWHERE.
I feel somehow relieved with this article <3 despite their low raitings.

Many korean dramas with good ratings make those too and are a hit.
I'm pretty sure the people who are saying Minho can't act at all aren't watching. He does need to work on his technique some more but he's also very good in some aspects. He has very good potential.
ReplyDelete^ I agree. I started off watching the drama thinking Minho would ruin everything but surprisingly it wasn't that bad. He is not good obviously, but not all that horrible enough to detract people from watching the show. Somehow I suspect most of these comments didn't even give it a chance.

I did watch the first 3 episodes and I must say I hated Minho's acting just as much as the next person. But what really made me stop watch this drama was that the story was just a repeat with very little originality added to it. There are some remakes I enjoy but for the most part if they don't have something new and different to add to the story I'm not really interested.
