Article: Block B "The CEO took $70,000 and disappeared"
Source: Herald News via Nate
1. [+771, -151] I heard that the members pay for their meals, gas, and stage outfits out of their pockets and were paid only $14 a month. They have been basically singing for free. I wish they will move to another company.
2. [+475, -49] That CEO is an absolute ba$tard. I can see why the group is mad seeing as how they've never even been paid and now their parents have been ripped off. This company is really sh1t if the members had to pay for their own promotions themselves. Block B's still a rookie and they've been going through so many ups and downs but this is a lot of experience for them.
3. [+344, -13] $70,000 is such a large amount of money, I wonder if he can even live with a conscience stealing that kind of money from a minors' parents tsk tsk
4. [+121, -12] Since their debut, they haven't received any money. The rent for their rehearsal studio and dorm, meal plans, and stylists were paid for with all of the members' money. Everyone already knows that P.O. had to pay $800 in cash for the members' outfit fees. As if that wasn't enough, the CEO took minor member P.O.'s parents' $70,000 saying they need production and promotion fees and basically disappeared with it. Whenever they went overseas, they never had a manager with them; they had to manage themselves. The money made from their fanclub inauguration was stolen by the company. After still not receiving anything for their Mambo comeback, the parents eventually stepped up with lawyers and filed a lawsuit.
5. [+117, -13] As much as Block B has their own past of mistakes, this is definitely the fault of the company no matter what.

Article: Block B at a crossfire with their company 'give us money' vs 'there is no income'
Source: E-News via Nate
1. [+643, -155] Does the company actually think it makes sense that there is not one income from months of promotions? I'm sure they sold albums, digital music, and performed on TV?
2. [+558, -90] Wow, I lost it when I heard that he stole money from the parents.
3. [+554, -217] I fell for the group when I heard Nillili Mambo
4. [+125, -44] What a trashy company... They've been on TV for more than just a few days so how is there no income? Where'd the money from their TV appearances and album sales go? Block B is the victim in this case, and I'm rooting for them to win./
5. [+121, -41] Just like the name of the company, they're 'dumming' the 'stars' (TN: dum in Korean means rip off) I'm not a Block B fan and actually had a bad opinion of the group with their past controversies but the group is actually really talented, especially that Zico kid, so it sucks that they're not able to grow because of such a crappy company. ㅡㅡ I hope they win this lawsuit and go do better in another company.
6. [+119, -14] It's not just the album sales either. They had so many fan signings from world camps to fanclub inaugurations and yet the members can't even pay their cellphone bills and had to pay for their expenses themselves. People are so quick to support other artists in slave contracts but just because Block B is a rookie.. if this isn't a slave contract, then what is?
7. [+98, -27] Don't lie, I know these guys are even fixed panelists on some shows. How do they not have an income?
8. [+85, -16] I also heard of them performing at several events in my town as well. The company didn't even have any expenses to explain the lack of income because the members paid for all of the expenses themselves. How can they not have ANYTHING? Are they trying to sell us drugs?
9. [+73, -14] There had to be an income, I'm sure of it, especially considering how the members paid for everything themselves. Where did two years of work go? Maybe they spent it all on building that new Stardom building
10. [+62, -15] Quite amazing that they still had the energy to produce songs under those conditions. They'd do well in another company if they keep making songs like they used to and just watch their mouths.

Funny how things changes so much in a year! You got my support, Block B! ♥
ReplyDeleteI hate it when comments say 'I'm not a fan but..' What does that have to do with the article. Anyways,I hope Block B wins this case. I can't believe they actually went through a year of that..
ReplyDeleteIt's to show that they are not biased. To make their opinion/comment seemed more reliable
DeleteWell, seems like Zico didn't lie when he said he only has $6
ReplyDeleteI just hope there is a company actually willing to get them ALL contracted.. :/
ReplyDelete(Wish it'ld be YG or TS but well.. Guess it's utterly unrealistic though.. how about shinhwas company? :'D)
I think people say that so that there is no accusation of bias. Non-fans are usually more objective than fans (unless they're antis).
ReplyDeleteThis scandal seems so suspicious, Fan Clubs generally draw in a bit of the revenue the groups so need, along with physical sales. And the Fan Club was inaugurated 6 months ago. Stardum entertainment, you're going down.
ReplyDeleteThis is heartbreaking tbh. I hope they get their money back and start again under another company.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see they have support from netizens as a whole for once, it's just unfortunate it took these circumstances for them to be supported. But I'm just thankful that it seems to be netizens (fan or not) are supporting them with this lawsuit. And this right here pisses me off so much:
ReplyDelete[+121, -12] Since their debut, they haven't received any money.
I don't want them to go to YG because YG seriously sucks at promoting several artists. 2012 was 2ne1's worst year since their debut.
ReplyDeleteAlso I don't think GD could handle Zico being a better rapper than he is, lol.
Well I'll be damned if I didn't think this just pushed public perception towards Block B in their favor. xD If there's anything I can thank Stardumb for, it's the fact that their idiocy has garnered sympathy from fans and netizens alike and they're all rooting for them.
ReplyDeletewell, besides the heartbreaking news, it's really nice to see those responses. I think everybody hates block b TT
ReplyDeleteWhat makes it sadder is that the members have hinted on variety shows or Match Up that they were broke, but we always thought they were kidding because that was their nature; to be playful and funny. A lot of BBCs are pretty upset that we couldn't catch the signs when they were all there
ReplyDeleteI don't think anyone in their right mind would side with Stardom... What the fuck is this world coming to that there are actually people out there who are this shitty? :/
ReplyDeleteTo separate themselves for the dumb "oppaaaaaa i love youuuuu" fangirls.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely not. Maybe a place like Jungle Ent. or Amoeba Culture Ent. where they're more hiphop oriented.
ReplyDelete$70K for promotion fees and Stardom couldn't even get them on all the music shows during their comeback???
ReplyDeleteWith that money, I think they could've bought a spot on every music show for a month AND a guest featuring on Sketchbook. Damn, Stardom!
i honestly give them credit for standing that shit for so long....
ReplyDeletethis is the life for most idols....
ReplyDeleteThe president and executive producer are still not the same as a "CEO" though.
ReplyDeleteSo who is really the CEO of Stardom? Does this "Mr. Lee" even exist??
i this sidusHQ (jay park's company) would be good, jay basically does his own thing and the company just distributes it
ReplyDeleteIt'll be tough but I think they'll be able to do it. I don't want them to go to another "nugu" company and suffer like how they did in Stardom. Amoeba Culture might not house them 'cause their objective isn't mainstream music. Neither is Jungle Entertainment but that might change. TS has B.A.P to worry about and the chances of YG picking them up is slim to none.
ReplyDeleteSince they've been considering this for quite a while, let's hope they also had an escape route ready to go in case Stardom wanted to play dirty and refuse to pay up.
Oh god, just shut up. You sound like all the other idiot Blackjacks who were sad that they couldn't go to any of 2NE1's concerts—which is what they were doing for more than half of last year. So please excuse 2NE1 from not having unlimited amounts of energy to do a world tour AND record a new album AND film MVs for it AND promote.
ReplyDeleteಠ_ಠ
I don't even know where you're getting your opinion about Zico and GD from, but seeing as how Epik High is now under YG I don't think anyone considers GD the best rapper in the company. Wtf?
not really... B1A4, EXO, BAP and INFINITE are treated very well.
ReplyDeletewell at least now public sees Block B to a different light right now after their controversies.
ReplyDeletei guess the one who can win a scandal is scandal.
But they get paid, block b wasn't at all, also they had their parent's money stole, that isn't the life for most idols, is it?
ReplyDeleteStupid move for the company to say that they had "no income".
ReplyDeleteBB fighting!
??? and just how do you know that...there's a lot of shady things that go on in all companies, some just have it worse than other
ReplyDeletein what world Zico is better rapper than Gdragon ?! your delusion is funny.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure some of those people are thinking about their own biases and thinking of how they might have been in the same situation as Block B...well, at least that's what I'd like to believe.
ReplyDeleteCalm the fuck down.
ReplyDeleteYG sent 2ne1 on a "world tour" with 1) one new song, 2) no stops in Europe, 3) awful organization (read the reviews of the NY/Cali shows), 4) cancelled stops. Then, YG talked about how 2ne1 was 1) coming back in the summer with a full album, 2) that turned into a November comeback with a digital single, 3) no word from that anymore.
Newsflash: they did film a music video, in LA. Where the hell did that go from? And stfu about them "not having energy". Big Bang has the energy to do an actual world tour with gazillion stops and promote at the same time. 2ne1 are not some delicate flowers, they can handle it. I know everyone thinks 2ne1 is super popular in Korea, but that's not really true. Have you noticed they barely get spotlighted on netizenbuzz? The public loves their songs, but them as themselves? Practically irrelevant. There were nowhere to be found in the Gallup polls.
And I was joking with the GD comment. Everyone knows GD's ego is the size of the universe.
as a blackjack i agree with everything you just tsaid...
ReplyDeleteWait, how did this go on for so long? How could Block B have paid for all of this on their own while they supposedly had no income - or was their income automatically funneled into stage/management expenses? This is NOT supposed to be accusatory as I am rooting for Block B in this situation, but I find it very strange that they were able to pay for all of their expenses from the start and didn't complain until now. Is it possible that they were threatened by the management, or maybe Stardom may be partially telling the truth..?
ReplyDeleteP.O's parents are rich. His father owns a duty free shop. :-)
Deletefuck stardom. sue them. get money. get out and start your own lable.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan but Block B is the best boy group in Korea; the boys deserve the best of the best.
ReplyDeleteMeh, a lot of fans actually also disguise themselves with that comment so they seem unbiased (what I learned from that jyj article lol).
ReplyDeleteHe is a better rapper , better than GD will ever be. You're the delusional one here.
ReplyDeleteDamn what's up with all the dislikes I have? I didn't say anything bad?
ReplyDeleteI love GD, but Zico has better flow. And Zico was in the underground, which GD never was.
ReplyDeleteWell, yeah, but that's how it's supposed to be in theory.
ReplyDelete+ SidusHQ's CEO is a real man. He always did his best to protect Jay Park from JYPE's cockblocking.
ReplyDeletethe same thing Cassies said about TVXQ before 2009
ReplyDeleteThis will mark for Block B's second chance of popularity rise :). I hope T-ara sue their CEO :/
ReplyDeleteThis is all kinds of fucked up and although I've read rants from (K)BBCs all the time about Block B's situation and the lacking promotion up until now, I always dismissed them as "fans being too dramatic and overprotective". Turns out some of them were even true...
ReplyDeleteAnd Stardom's image in the international fandom is kinda gone now as well.
@netizenbuzz Do you know if there is any news about EvoL and LeeU being treated the same way as Block B? I feel bad for them...
Yes; yes yes what about evoL?
DeleteIt's not that easy to start your own label, unless you got connections, it's rough business.
ReplyDeleteGD is known as the best rapper in Kpop.
ReplyDeleteHahahahahaha he didn't even won that rapper award Anchovy won it, and Zico is betta
DeleteAt this point, no one is really sure who's CEO, whether it's Cho PD or Mr. Lee. but if my memory during the Thailand controversy is correct, there was a time where someone with the Twitter bio "CEO of Brand New Stardom" tweeted something about Nichkhun and his CF controversy. i thought it wasn't true until I found out Cho PD and the boys were following him on Twitter as well.
ReplyDeleteI can't remember if his name is Lee but it all roads seem to lead back to this one person.
He's known as the best rapper in Kpop doesn't mean he is. Zico is far better than him, well, at least in my opinion. It's just that GD has a larger fanbase, and Zico is a rookie :)
ReplyDeleteWell big idols vs. small idols. Most small companies don't have the resources to pay their no name idols since their only revenue is 5000 sales at 10 cents each or even less.
ReplyDeleteLarge idols though get variety, drama, CF, physical sales (sometimes, cough, SM) and therefore a lot more money.
The larger companies have fairer contracts and also a LOT more revenue to share.
People don't know how to take a joke, you should know that by now.
ReplyDeleteI dunno~ sometimes i get like 6 dislikes on the most random comments. I think we have our share of haters xD
ReplyDeleteWhy mention GD... He is not known for his rap skills but for his whole package and zico is particularly known for his expectional rap skills.
ReplyDeleteAnd i know that. My point is that Block B's problem with Stardom isn't only the not getting paid at all.
ReplyDeleteIf these people don't realize by now that I'm a BBC then they're idiots. I think some people are holding grudges lmao!
ReplyDeleteI'm a vip and only the delusional ones thinks GD is the best rapper in korea or the trolls. In fact GD is not known as the best rapper in kpop, he's known as the most famous rapper in kpop, people seem to get this confused. And gd is not known in korea for his rap skills but for his whole package but zico is known especially for his rap skill.
ReplyDeleteKKS ain't a paper tiger. If T-ara creates any trouble for CCM, they're basically messing with the whole CJ group(by the way, it is owned by the eldest grandson of Samsung's founder who is one of the richest man in South Korea according to Forbes) which is involved in almost every business and entertainment sector in South Korea.
ReplyDeleteI'm just glad they are being paid.
well shit.
ReplyDeleteShinhwa Company? They are new and barely making ends meet as it is. Even if they were accepting groups, I hardly feel Block B's monetary situation would be much better. Shinhwa Company exists for Shinhwa's promotions alone. In the future that may change, but right now that's how it is.
ReplyDeleteIt's touching that BBCs think of Shinhwa through all this, but you must realize the two cases couldn't be more different.
For one, Shinhwa didn't sue SM for any contract discrepancies; they fulfilled their contracts and left only after their contracts were up. The catalyst to their plight was SM's offer to re-sign only a handful of the members, and all six felt it was a waste to give up what they had for what SM was promising. So they took an unprecedented risk in the name of Shinhwa. With Eric at the helm, they went to court and fought SM for the rights to continue as Shinhwa outside SM Entertainment. And they won. But that was only half the battle.
They moved to a little known agency, Good Ent., and, aside from being granted the right to retain their name under the condition that they promote as six, they faced the challenge of reestablishing themselves amidst seemingly endless controversy. If it hadn't been for the support of their fans throughout the legal battle, as well as the uphill climb during their first year or so under Good Ent, Shinhwa members would probably be living very different, less musical lives today.
Anyway, the point is Block B's case is different, and you (BBCs) shouldn't be looking for someone to bail them out, but rather sending them your support because in the end that will be the most beneficial in this difficult time :)
dude sit your ass down....ji was rapping (with heavyweights) when zico didn't know what that even meant...next
ReplyDeleteWhat a mess. I also feel sorry for the staff who worked for next to nothing, the other artists and the trainees. Who knows what will happen to all those people now :/
ReplyDeletelol and that somehow means GD is better? Back when he didn't smoke and drink so much, TOP had a better flow as well. GD is good with word plays and he likes to distort his voice, but that's it. I dislike Zico passionately, but there's no denying he's a better rapper.
ReplyDeleteyou don't know much about rap..zico is good but has plenty to learn about...his flow is good but not steady, his delivery is ok...he doesn't enunciate and just because he can rap fast doesn't mean he's the best...hip hop and rapping is more complex than that....
ReplyDeleteyou obviously dislike everyone...a bit angry aren't we...zico is good but not better than ji...let's make it clear right here right now...just because he distorts his voice doesn't mean he's bad...his flow is on point...his delivery is amazing and he enunciates words...being able to do word plays is not something everyone can do...and yes it matters since he has about 10 years more of experience...
ReplyDeletei think you might be confusing zico with zelo of bap or something, because zico is known to have incredibly clear pronounciation, plus he doesn't rap particularly fast on most occasions...
ReplyDeletegd is a great producer, but in rapping skills alone, zico is better
Lol, from what you just said, I think you don't even know Zico to judge..
ReplyDeletethat's your opinion i'm a fan of both and listened to all of their shit..he's known as a good rapper....i know that...and i'm not saying ji is better i'm saying zico isn't either..
ReplyDeleteomg like being in the underground scene makes u a great rapper automatically...i know shitload of underground rappers and half of them suck...skills don't have anything to do with how or where you practice your talent at..please stop....zico is good...but no god...
ReplyDeleteUh... what? I dislike everyone? lol ok. I dislike Zico's personality. But I can divide artist from its art. How is that in any way relevant to this?
ReplyDeleteI never said distorting one's voice is bad? I put it in as his good point. GD is very witty and that's good, but Zico's flow is better. Like I said, TOP's flow before he started sounding 60 years old was also much better. GD is a better producer than he is a rapper. He's just like Kanye, a great producer but just a good rapper.
Experience is good, but still doesn't mean a lot. Dara has been singing for years and she's still just ok. It's even more commendable that Zico has been doing this for a much shorter time than GD and he is already better.
that P.O dude is rich!
ReplyDeletezico's flow is better to you...not to everyone...biggie's flow was better to some...to some pac's flow was better and they preferred it more...gd stared as a rapper..he didn't start as a producer...better to you not to everyone...don't generalize...agree to disagree....different styles different flows i think zico can still improve...and has a long way to go to be anywhere near ji...you think otherwise
ReplyDeletegood luck boys..you'll need it...hope u stay together and hope zico and kyung taking block b out of their u/ns doesn't mean something deeper....hope everything clears out soon
ReplyDeleteTo think that LeeU (former member of F.CUZ) joined this agency. T__T I hope he's going to be fine.
ReplyDeleteI love Big Bang and don't care about block b but zico is better than G-dragon.
ReplyDeletejyp is till bigger than sidushq and is still cockblocking everyone knows it...that's why jay appears only when he's promoting...you can barely see him on some shows...sadly
ReplyDeleteI never said that being in the underground makes you a great rapper, lol you sure enjoy putting words in other people's mouths. It gives you more access to non-mainstream rap though. That's my point. Yongguk from BAP was in the underground and he's not brilliant by any means.
ReplyDelete"i'm not saying ji is better i'm saying zico isn't either.."
ReplyDeletethen what the fuck are you saying? you make no sense
you said "and zico was in the underground, which gd never was" i'm sorry but what i got from that is "automatically he's better" don't know what else you would want to say by that statement but fine then we agree...
ReplyDeleteJYPE cockblock Jay? What did they do?
ReplyDeletei'm saying they're different...neither is better...but zico still needs to obtain more experience...that's what i'm saying
ReplyDeleteOkay, fine. I've seen lots of other people (not in this post) agree with me, but okay. You seriously think GD was better than TOP in his prime? A lot of people agree with me. GD's rap at MAMA was horrible, especially compared to Zico's performance (although Zico also paled in front of Gaeko). Although it was in english, but still.
ReplyDeleteoh really enlighten me because it's not like i haven't been listening to him even before debut...
ReplyDeletelol, you did well
ReplyDeleteyou can't compare that shit because again different styles...don't you understand it...how can i compare appleas and oranges...well it was weak because he's not a native speaker...i take my hat off to him considering he can barely speak in english and he wrote that and performed it...i'm not saying it's good but zico was rapping in korean...again..let me see zico write a bar in english...
ReplyDeleteThey need "GD" name for a "hot comment" you know.
ReplyDeletemaybe because you copy/paste a knetizens, it seems lazy. Just write your own opinion.
ReplyDeleteI was JOKING. Just a small joke that people are seriously making it bigger than it is. I love GD. He is my bias.
ReplyDeleteGD can't "barely" speak English lol, his English is pretty good. When Zico writes in English I sure hope that it's better than "they phony, cheesy like macaroni" lol.
ReplyDeleteI'm sick and tired of this. I don't even like Block B or Zico. You can choose to believe whatever you want.
how do you know ? we can't tell for sure.
ReplyDeleteOh.. I didn't think of SidusHQ.. That's actually quite a good idea. :o
ReplyDeleteyea, that's what ppl thought b4 this block b/stardom fiasco too. even though they don't go on shows as much, ppl thought the company gave them more artistic freedom and didn't micro-manage them to death. Turns out there was no management to begin with. I think it has also become a lot clearer too that the people in the company who are close to the idols and 'treat them well' aren't necessarily the ones with real power, and besides no one knows what their contractual terms are like and that's the crux of the problem.
ReplyDeleteI don't see how that's lazy. I do it all the time and don't get that many thumbs down. It's called quoting. I don't see why that would be a reason for people to dislike the comment since I'm showing support.
ReplyDeleteyou are just completely biased, if it was gd from like say 2005? when he was fresh and spunky maybe, now his head is the size of the whole earth combined. he thinks anyone who doesnt like his music is a hater, anyone who criticize him is jealous, oh please, you and your bias sound the same at this point.....
ReplyDeleteone word my dear: delusional... some girls rap better than him and thats saying a lot...!!! lol, hilarious....... miryo from beg is better than gd.... not to mention tiger jk...... really? gd the best? what planet do you live on? what about tablo??? dear god crawl back out of that rock you live under....... please....!!!!!
ReplyDeleteyup, sadly. He didn't even have a goodbye stage for "Know your name"
ReplyDeleteBut I've seen quite a few users on this site quote a huge chunk of text only to say "^THIIS!!!!" and it'll get 50+ upvotes. lol That's insane.
ReplyDeleteStardom's website has a "CEO message" from Cho PD though.
ReplyDeleteSidus HQ is a really big company, but the specialize more in managing the careers of actors and producing movies and dramas.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Jay really cares... He has an American mindset, so it's very likely that he acknowledges JYP's cockblocking as confirmation that he poses a threat to the company.
Jay was chosen as the leader of 2PM, not just because he was the oldest but because he was the most popular member on Hot Blood and the other members acknowledged him as the most talented.
Yeah... because he was in Little Roora at age 6, an SM trainee at age 8... and he stayed with SM for 5 years before taking a break and joining YG at age 14.
ReplyDeleteSean was the one who discovered GD. :)
So?
ReplyDeleteThere's no need to apologize! I wasn't criticizing you.
ReplyDeleteMy reply was as much for you as for all BBCs. I just don't want you all to cling to a false hope, hence the history lesson. Please don't take any offense ^^
:'D As I said, it just popped into my mind... I got into Shinhwa recently (when they started promoting last year) so I just know bits here and there~ However, I didn't want to compare them with BB.. just thought of that Shinhwa had a own company. :3
ReplyDeleteAs for the escalated.. I meant the people deeeeeep dooooooown vvvvvvv there.. xD
What in the world?
ReplyDeleteOMFG...
NETIZNES TOLD THEM TO GO AND REFLECT, NOW THEY WONDER "WHERE'S THE INCOME?" - fucking dumbasses. They are also to blame.
ReplyDeleteso what ?
ReplyDeleteI can still be surprised by someone who pay $800 cash, no ?
So he was from the beginning exposed to mainstream rap, that's my point.
ReplyDeleteDelusion is strong in this one.
ReplyDeleteLet alone Block B's rappers, non idol rappers can make GD go home crying.
ReplyDeleteEven Yoon Mi Rae or Miryo as females can shit all over the 'hip hop company YG' alone.
Who do you mean exactly with heavyweights?
ReplyDeleteDo you think BB and GD are respected except their fangirls in department of hip hop?
BB and GD especially were dissed and insulted dozens of times by undergroung and non-idol rappers.
Most known you might heard is Dok2 who always called him a fag and a little coward until he was lured by the loaded bank account of YG to feature in a song with GD.
Do you actually know what kind of bullshit GD's 'rapping' in his latest songs and his own mini album recently?
His lyrics were actually good in his early days, good for an idol rapper who has limited topics to rap about but now he only brags about his money and stupid swag all the time.
They need to catch that damned thief of a CEO and sell his organs to get back the money for Block B and staffs. And I seriously hope that no more idols or artists are being treated like this.
ReplyDeleteGD and Zico doesn't even rap about the same things.
ReplyDeletePac and Biggie's life was similar in that aspect, they were close in age, both hustled in the streets, been a pimp, fought, used drugs and shit.
Still only one person is called the god of hip hop/the best rapper of all time and that is pac.
Can you even stand behind your words by explaining them in logical points? What makes GD a better rapper than Zico?
Experience? Zico may have debuted shortly ago but he' been rapping for years, he has better pronunciation than GD, he can fast rap better than GD.
And through his released tracks from his mixtape can show you that he is not afraid of any feedback nor criticism for explicit contents he is rapping.
Unlike GD who can't even openly date or act daring once for the sake of not angering and turning his crazy fangirls against himself since they are his cash source.
I tried listening to dok2 but it is so not my cup of tea it's way to gangster and hardcore and his blinged teeth is scary. Seriously if gd was like dok2 I wouldn't be a fan.
ReplyDeleteWhy is everybody commenting on GD vs Zico.. It's all about personal preferrence.
ReplyDeleteI like the fact they're suing together but it's more likely they will disband. It's difficult to take a group who got famous from controversies rather through their music. I mean sure, they're talented (well tbh, their music isn't my cup of tea) but the first thing that comes to our head on Block B is...? Exactly. I only think Zico and the Thailand controversy.
I'm no BBC but I did listen to the main promotion singles, and it all highlighted Zico alot and the rest seems like back up..even comment section always always talk about Zico alone (heck even this comment section too!) and I was actually supporting them in Thailand controversy! I think why do they need to ask their opinions on the flood? And with this incident, it is clear that Block B was frustrated with money issues that they're hoping someone would higlight their money trouble but it got mistranslated.
they make me think of Shinhwa, who were always 'the wild kids' XD
ReplyDeleteHonestly, block b has gotten in trouble because of their disrespect in interviews--which they have been disrespectful, but Shinhwa were pretty bad too. They should be thankful they had Hyesung in the early days or no interviews would have ever happened, lol
I know right? LOL.
ReplyDeletei doubt its actual cockblocking- from what i've seen on this site, a lot of koreans are stilled pissed about what he said and don't view him too favorably, so naturally he wouldn't have many appearences. and he never seemed like the type to like variety, even from his 2pm days. but it could be, as that is the way things go in this industry.
ReplyDeleteJYP isn't any larger than SidusHQ in terms of the power they wield in the industry. JYP may have some form of influence on music programs, but outside of that, in terms of variety programs and dramas they don't really have that much of a power. Most of the PDs who avoid Jay are probably do that because of the controversy and not because JYP is blocking him. I do think Jay only appears on TV when he's promoting because he's not interested outside of that and also because that's what most artistes do. It's an accepted standard that most people only appear on TV when they need to promote something. Other than that, unless you have a desire to be labelled 'entertainer' and not just 'musician', you won't really appear on TV. Jay has always come across to me as someone who wants to be known for singing and dancing more than for variety, so honestly, it's not all that sad.
ReplyDeletelol Oh they know we're BBCs. They don't like that we're outspoken though.
ReplyDeleteOh well~ xD
It's all very confusing at this point. Not even Korean journalists are sure who
ReplyDeleteBlock B insists that Mr. Lee is Stardom's CEO and I'm more inclined to believe them at this point. It actually makes sense, given the fact that there were a lot of signs that kind of showed that Cho PD had "checked out" in the executive management aspect of his company.
those groups are still fetuses in the industry.
ReplyDeleteBlock B does pretty decently though. Over 20K in album sales, hundreds of thousands in digital sales for the entire Blockbuster album with "Nillili Mambo" alone ranking in $190K in the first month. Radio and airplay is good, showcases and fansigns rake in LOTS of fans, merchandise sell well, had Match Up for a variety show, Zico and P.O. were MCs (currently not due to the lawsuit), and the list goes on.
ReplyDeleteNever really cared for the Zico/GD fight, I like both, but you're really pulling it out of your ass about his lack of enunciation when you're obviously not a native speaker of the language. Like someone has already pointed out, Zico's always been spot on with his pronunciation and he's been recognised for it.
ReplyDeletedude.. how is one word considered being defensive..? i was wondering the same thing.. like, so what if p.o's family is rich..? is that even relevant to the article..?
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree about sidus hq. I've suggested that before myself.
ReplyDeleteThis is true. Plus I think Dok2 only did that because he's cool with Jay Park and Big Bang are cool with Jay.
ReplyDeleteThis is only wishful thinking but I'd like to see Brand New Music sign them and for there to be a lot of Block B-Phantom interactions :)
ReplyDeleteToo bad BNM is already in the works to produce their own boy group this year.
If you don't mind me asking, what have you heard from KBBCs? Sounds like they've had a contentious relationship with Stardom for quite a while before this plus they know a lot of things that are just now coming to light. I certainly didn't know Block B paid for all of their expenses out of pocket until now anyways.
